Home of the 11-time Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings, Joe Louis Arena proudly stands along the banks of the Detroit River. The 20,058-seat arena opened its doors in 1979 and regularly hosts exciting attractions, including professional sports, college hockey, concerts, ice shows, circuses and much more.
The disabled entrance is located on Steve Yzerman Drive, just around the corner from the stairs that face Jefferson. There is a sign that says “handicapped entrance” and is directly across from the Riverfront Executive parking lot.
Disabled parking spots are located in the Joe Louis Arena parking garage and in our Riverfront Executive Lot.

Doors for seating open 60 minutes prior to scheduled event time.
WILL CALL Tickets are available at the box office two hours prior to the event. Individuals must present the actual credit card, a picture ID and the confirmation number. The Will Call window is located at the box office on the street level on the W. Jefferson side of the building.
REFUND POLICY There are no refunds on event and Red Wings tickets. All sales are final. Playoff ticket refunds will be issued for any un-played games in the postseason. These refunds will be issued in the form of a check refund or a credit towards next year’s season tickets.
SMOKING is prohibited inside Joe Louis Arena. Two designated smoking areas are roped off outside the east and west gates of the arena. You will need your ticket stub for re-admittance.
CAMERAS with detachable lenses under 80MM are allowed into Joe Louis Arena on game days. NO video recorders or flash photography is allowed. Cameras with detachable lenses that extend over 80MM are prohibited. Camera policies vary for events such as concerts and other shows.
GUEST RELATIONS Our Information Booth is located on the concourse level behind section 101.
LOST OR STOLEN TICKETS With the high value of tickets, we recommend they be treated like cash and kept in a secure place. If, despite your best effort to protect them, your tickets are stolen, replacements will be produced only after an official police report is received by the Joe Louis Arena box office.
PROHIBITED ITEMS at Joe Louis Arena include, but are not limited to, bottles, cans, liquid containers, coolers, outside food and beverages, weapons of any kind, laser light pointers, flagpoles, air horns, and umbrellas. To ensure the safety of all fans, any carry-in parcels may be checked by Joe Louis Arena Security or prohibited items.
