OLYMPIA ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES THE 2015-2016 FIFTH THIRD BANK FOX THEATRE SERIES

(DETROIT– May 28, 2015) — Olympia Entertainment is excited to announce an array of theatrical and musical experiences to headline the 2015-2016 Fifth Third Bank Fox Theatre Series; featuring some of musical theater’s most enduring titles, as well as an incredible holiday show lineup and award-winning productions making their Fox Theatre debut.

Fifth Third Bank Fox Theatre Series
One of the most enduring shows of all time, Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Friday, Oct. 23 – Saturday, Oct. 24) is the irresistible family musical about the trials and triumphs of Joseph, Israel’s favorite son. Directed and choreographed by Tony® Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler, this new production is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his eleven brothers and the coat of many colors. The magical musical is full of unforgettable songs, including “Go Go Go Joseph,” “Any Dream Will Do” and “Close Every Door.”

Audiences will find their hearts growing a few sizes along with the Grinch’s when they experience the magic of Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical (Tuesday, Nov. 10 – Sunday, Nov. 15) which features the hit songs "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas” (written by Albert Hague and Dr. Seuss), from the original animated television special. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is "two sizes too small," decides to steal Christmas away from the loveable Whos.

The beloved TV classic Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical (Saturday, Dec. 5 – Sunday, Dec. 6) soars off the screen and onto the stage this holiday season. See all of your favorite characters as they come to life in Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer: The Musical. It’s an adventure that teaches us that what makes you different can be what makes you special.

Direct from New York, Neil Berg's Broadway Holiday (Saturday, Dec. 12) brings five of Broadway’s finest stars to the Fox Theatre stage for an unforgettable holiday event. The show features much-loved holiday tunes along with Broadway hits ranging from classic shows such as My Fair Lady and South Pacific, through ground breakers like West Side Story and Chicago, to current blockbusters like Jersey Boys and Wicked.

Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis (Friday, Dec. 18) has been America’s favorite holiday celebration for over 25 years. Grammy Award winner Chip Davis has created a show that features the beloved Christmas music of Mannheim Steamroller along with dazzling multimedia effects performed in an intimate setting.

Once again, metro Detroit families can celebrate the beauty of the holidays with the Moscow Ballet’s acclaimed Great Russian Nutcracker (Sunday, Dec. 20). The renowned, award-winning principal dancers and corps de ballet thrill audiences with their expertise, dramatic expression and stunning leaps, turns and drops. Cirque Dreams Holidaze (Tuesday, Dec. 22 – Sunday, Dec. 27) lights up the 2015 holiday season with its critically acclaimed holiday extravaganza. Not to be missed...this circus-like holiday stage spectacular features ornaments, costumes and acrobatics that come alive celebrating holiday themes, music and traditions for the entire family. With over 300 costumes, 20 acts and 30 artists from every corner of the globe, Cirque Dreams Holidaze is the greatest variety show on the planet.

The quintessential backstage musical comedy classic, 42nd Street (Friday, Feb. 12 – Saturday, Feb. 13) is the song and dance fable of Broadway with an American Dream story and includes some of the greatest songs ever written, such as “We’re In The Money,” “Lullaby of Broadway,” “Shuffle Off To Buffalo,” “I Only Have Eyes For You” and of course “42nd Street.” The musical tells the story of a starry-eyed young dancer named Peggy Sawyer who leaves her Allentown home and comes to New York to audition for the new Broadway musical Pretty Lady. When the star breaks her ankle, Peggy takes over and becomes a star.
