How Sweet The Sound
Verizon’s How Sweet the Sound™, the country’s most prestigious gospel music experience, will have Detroit-area residents rejoicing when the tour comes to the Fox Theatre on Sunday, October 6 at 7:30 p.m.
Participating choirs will have the chance to rejoice in song and praise, perform in front of fans and gospel greats including GRAMMY®-winning artists Donald Lawrence and Yolanda Adams who will return as hosts. Tamela Mann, Hezekiah Walker, Marvin Sapp and VaShawn Mitchell will also join Verizon’s How Sweet the Sound tour as resident judges. Choirs can win a recording contract and up to $50,000 in cash and prizes. The winning choir will advance to the grand finale event in Los Angeles.
Verizon’s How Sweet the Sound pays tribute to gospel music and provides choirs a platform to showcase their talent with a broader community. The program is a year-long series of gospel experiences that unite communities and cities all across America in celebration and song.
